Full & new moon rituals

How many of us are really in touch with the moon’s cycles? Hmm. I’m working on getting back in.  Farmers tune into them for planting. Tides follow their rhythm. Whether we’re aware of it or not the moon affects us humans too.  How ’bout creating a full and/or new moon ritual? Something simple may work for your fam.  Both are great times to take colour or salt baths (at home or in the ocean).  http://www.colourenergy.com/bath_products.html Skinny dipping too.  YAY!!

If you host full moon gatherings think about including prayers, chanting, meditations, crystal charging, readings (poetry & more). It’s a great time to pull some of your meditation cards too. Sacred Thoughts Poetry Meditation cards and http://www.blackangelcards.com are sweet!  www.crystaljourneycandles.com are phenomenal!

NOTE: Use the new moon for releasing (unhealthy habits/people, things outgrown, negativity etc).  Use the full moon for attracting (new habits, people, abundance/wealth, positivity etc).

Calling the conscious community OUT … yet again

Zuri Speaks, the radio programme, tackles the issues. This isn’t the first time and it certainly won’t be the last.  Zuri and her guests call out the conscious community. Yes, we have our issues.  Let’s  be honest and work on ’em folks.

Back2School

So the first day of school is around the corner for many of you. Here are a few tips to help your family navigate the academic year. Keep in mind these suggestions are for parents whose children do not attend Afrikan-centred schools.

1) Be an active PTA/PTSA member. Speak up and encourage parents/staff
to be inclusive/embrace diversity. Set the example.

2) Identify other families with a similar worldview and/or lifestyle
(at your children’s schools). Connect with them. Try to devise a
“non-threatening game plan” for the year.

3)  Correspond with your children’s principals/teachers about your
family’s “special needs” at the beginning of the academic year ie.
eating habits, exemption from  activities related to Halloween,
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter etc.   Present simple
solutions for challenging situations related to these. Give an
overview of your beliefs if necessary. P.S.- It’s preferable to meet with school staff and specify your requests in letters.  ARCHIVE THE LETTERS.

4) Volunteer at your children’s schools often.

5) Remain in contact with your children’s teachers/principals
throughout the academic year.

P.S.- Consider doing the same for extra-curricular activities.

Dr. Umar Johnson speaks: Hyperactivity, ADHD & the effect of psychotropic drugs

Many of us aren’t willing to address our lifestyles and how they contribute to all the violence (especially amongst our youth) that we’re grappling with.  We keep talking about spanking our children, putting ’em on ritolin and the like. These are are NOT solutions.  Let’s get to the root of it all!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FavKvUOAMCc       Dr. Umar Johnson breaks it down

Factors to consider: All the unnatural food most of us are consuming combined with smoking & alcohol use, sexual excess, lack of exercise & more. Many of us who are parents (or plan to become parents) simply aren’t willing to clean up our lives. So… we often pay for it later in our own lives & those of our offspring.

P.S.- It’s necessary for us to consider how we treat our bodies PRIOR to conceiving children.
Unnatural lifestyles weaken our internal organs including our precious eggs & semen. Plain & simple.
Sometimes the effects of this don’t show up at birth.  In time things do come to a head though.

Mental illness in our community

I’m really starting to see the degree to which many of us are struggling with mental health issues ie. schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder etc. People, these conditions can be treated naturally. KNOW that psychotropic drugs do
not heal our bodies. The side effects are major and can be avoided by
taking a more natural approach.

Places like http://fountainheadclinic.com/index.htm & http://www.nmrc.ca/ can assist. Big time. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJfHB4NHUXI

Consider visiting NDs & Homeopaths in your area. Youtube also has some videos about treating these conditions naturally.
